MCC firmly believes in supporting the work of Christian missionaries as a way of furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ beyond the four walls of the church, into our community, throughout the country and around the world. A Missions Committee (a sub-committee of the Board of Deacons) meets once a month to discuss missions awareness and activities in the church, determine support needed for missionaries in which MCC sponsors, and pray for these missionaries.

Missions Committee Guidelines define missions as “any ministry carried on by our congregation to persons outside the congregation for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ, to proclaim the Gospel to all peoples, and to make disciples of all nations…. ministering to the needs of the whole person, including physical needs, but never to the exclusion of the spiritual and eternal need to know Christ as Savior and Lord.”

Currently MCC supports five “career” missionaries around the world and four local missions initiatives. We also provide assistance to those in our church who make the commitment to serve on a short-term missions trip (typically one week). There are also opportunities throughout the year to assist in local service projects. Funding for missions support is provided through a missions budget separate from our church’s operating budget.
